Why the
International Coach Federation?
The coaching profession is not regulated by any national law and is instead self-regulated by the International Coach Federation, the first federation of its kind in the world with 25,000 members in 125 countries. The ICF sets professional standards and promotes top-class training through its accredited programmes, enforces its code of ethics, and promotes its independent certification system. Above all, the ICF is a guarantee of quality and reliability of its certified members.

ACTP means that a coaching school’s program is accredited by the ICF as valid and mandated by the ICF to have their participants pass the certification exams on its operating sites. In fact, Nova Terra’s coaching programs are ACTP accredited. Moreover, Nova Terra’s trainers are ICF certified to the highest level, and the school supports its participants in the process of achieving ICF certification.
25,000 members in 125 countries including Belgium
Achieving ICF certification is a demanding task, requiring continuous training and supervision, and the undertaking of written and oral examinations in front of an independent panel of experts. Moreover, the ICF certification proves to your prospective clients that you are a professional and experienced coach who respects a well-defined code of ethics.
ICF offers three levels of credentialing

ACC - Associated Certified Coach
To pass, the coach must show 60 hours of coaching-specific training, 10 hours of mentor coaching with an ICF certified coach, 100 hours of coaching practice and pass an oral examination (20-30-minute coaching with an official ICF Assessor).

PCC - Professional Certified Coach
The coach becomes a professional, demonstrating 125 hours of coaching specific training, 10 hours of mentor coaching with an ICF PCC or MCC coach and 500 hours of coaching practice.

MCC - Master Certified Coach
The coach reaches master level, having completed 200 hours of training, 10 hours of mentor coaching with an ICF Master Certified Coach and 2,500 hours of coaching practice.
These certification exams are available in several languages. Unlike the academic qualifications which validate a training level, ICF certification validates updated levels for training and experience. To remain valid, the certification process needs to be renewed every three years.
