What is the Mastery & Art of Coaching?

The Mastery & Art of Coaching Program (herein known as the ‘MAC’) is globally recognised; with alumni and trainers that span the five continents, when we say that we support you to explore new earths (it’s in our name, after all!) we truly mean it, metaphorically and figuratively.

In one sentence, our carefully developed course sets a continued high standard for the coaching profession, framed in line with - and fully accredited by - the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

In this article we will focus on Level One of the MAC - highlighting what really sets it apart on the global stage.

Seven Great Things About The MAC:

  1. Global Recognition: Our course is ICF accredited - the ICF is a well-respected international coaching organisation, and its core competencies are widely recognised across the coaching industry as being essential pillars in co-creating a sustainable and meaningful relationship with your client. The MAC is completely aligned with these competencies and can therefore enhance your credibility and marketability as a coach, both locally and internationally.
  2. Professional Standards: Each of our eight learning modules in Level One serve as a set of professional standards that guide ethical and effective coaching practices. Adhering to these competencies ensures that coaches provide high-quality partnerships, maintaining the integrity of the coaching profession.
  3. Structured Learning: We are renowned for our learning-by-doing approach to coaching, however we also have a structured framework for learning and practicing your coaching skills. This framework includes areas such as establishing the coaching agreement, active listening, powerful questioning, and creating awareness, among others. Following this structure allows for a comprehensive and systematic approach to coaching education - allowing you to go beyond ‘doing’ the actions of a coach - and instead towards the living, breathing ‘being’ of becoming a fully embodied and confident coach.
  4. Client-Centred Approach: We emphasize a client-centred approach, focusing on the needs and goals (the agenda) of the client. Coaches learn how to create a safe and supportive environment, foster client self-discovery, and tailor their coaching approach to meet individual client needs.
  5. Continuous Improvement: The MAC marks the end of your previous way of experiencing the world. And it’s the beginning of a continuous partnership as part of our distinguished alumni. With masterclasses in Executive Coaching and Team Coaching, Supervision to keep you safe in your casework and Mentor Coaching to continually tune your coaching instrument, we actively encourage ongoing professional development and commit ourselves to continuous improvement. Put simply, your trainers at Nova Terra ‘walk the talk’.
  6. Ethical Guidelines: From the moment you set sail on the MAC, there is a strong emphasis on ethical guidelines and professional conduct. We train our coaches to uphold the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and respect for clients, contributing to the overall trust and credibility of the coaching profession.
  7. Credentialing Opportunities: Completing the MAC is a prerequisite for obtaining ICF credentials. Achieving an ICF credential, such as Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Professional Certified Coach (PCC), or Master Certified Coach (MCC), not only validates your coaching expertise but opens up additional opportunities for professional growth in any organisation.

In essence, the MAC Level One has been created around the ICF Core Competencies. It has evolved over thirteen years(!) and continues to provide a solid foundation for aspiring coaches by offering and working within a globally recognised framework, emphasising ethical practices, and promoting ongoing professional development.
